America Is Rapidly Moving Toward A Reckoning

Friends, as we stand on the threshold of the Year of Our Lord 2014, Ol' Backwoods believes that the state of affairs in America cannot continue are they stand for long.  Either the Communists must move to consolidate their gains, or the scrimmage lines of freedom must be pushed back.  It's Duck Commander's America or PajamaBoy America; we cannot waffle betwixt the two for long.

On that subject, Ol' Backwoods has seen some wisdom in the columns on the Internets lately.  To wit:

Thompson: Why There Will Be War
Before this nation's founding, a group of pilgrims were able to escape the repression of the Church of England by seeking safe haven in a new territory. There are no more new worlds. There is nowhere else to run, and there will be no coming together in peaceful coexistence. The reason is that Christians are being required to do what we will not and cannot do – defy God for the sake of a corrupt, rotting culture. And not all Christians will passively bow to force.
This space called America cannot be concurrently occupied by the existing opposing worldviews. How this tragedy that is the destruction of America will play out remains to be seen, but I predict that it will not end peacefully.
No, it will not.

In a similar vein, but comparing America to Panem of the Hunger Games books: Will the MockingJay Catch Fire?
Like Panem [fictional future America of the Hunger Games series], the Progressive political caste of America, with its supporting menagerie of true believers and sycophants, live their effeminate fantasy-driven existences well insulated in the posh caverns of our morally ruthless cities -- doling out bread, games, and diversion in their attempt to ride the tiger of popular dissatisfaction that is inexorably approaching an unstoppable chain reaction.
When the inevitable occurs, and tyranny no longer bothers to drape itself in its guise of virtue, then we can be assured that the velveteen gloves will have come off, leaving the compassionate face of managerial oligarchy to unveil her true cynical countenance. Soon, far sooner than we may even comprehend, it will be time to sharpen those plowshares into more appropriate implements to get our points squarely across -- loud and clear.
If a significant enough number of patriots are willing that America should pull back to her constitutional first principles, what means shall we use in bringing about freedom's vindication? Revolutions can be velvet or blood-drenched, depending upon how hard the stakeholders want to bear down on passion's throttle. It may well be that in the end, those productive nodes of our society: doctors, businessmen, tradesmen, engineers, inventors -- all in the spirit of Rand's Atlas Shrugged, will merely cast down their calculators and tools and walk away from it all, or else cry out at the top of their lungs:
No More! We shall not be servants who are conscripted to prostrate ourselves in service to your wretched utopia. And having foregone pleasure and educated ourselves to virtue and excellence, we refuse to acquiesce to the covetous mob instincts of a broken republic. Spin your own lice into gold! To Hell with you -- it stops here!
...the Wretched House of Obama. But even that wretch himself is only a two-bit player on an expansive battlefield where the winner will ultimately be either Constitution or Commune. We must know in the depth of our being that the grand stakes that compel us are both the way in which we morally perceive ourselves as men, as well as the character that our souls will retain in relation to the state. When the hour arrives we will surely know it -- it will be as unmistakable as a heart attack. Revolution, in the noble service of reclamation and rebirth, can be an act of exhilarating clarity. When it indeed catches fire, its flame will prove more than sufficient to illuminate our world.

If we have to ask this question at all (and we do), the Constitutional Republic is in serious peril:

Does Exercising the Second Amendment Invalidate the Fourth Amendment?
WASHINGTON, DC — Warning against encroachments on the Second Amendment right to bear arms, The Rutherford Institute has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case of a Texas man whose home was subject to a no-knock, SWAT-team style forceful entry and raid based solely on the suspicion that there were legally-owned firearms in his household. Although police had obtained a search warrant for John Quinn’s home based on information that Quinn’s son might possess drugs, the warrant did not authorize police to enter the residence without knocking and announcing their entry. During the raid, Quinn was shot by police because he had reached for his lawfully owned firearm, thinking that his home was being invaded by criminals. In asking the Supreme Court to hear the case of Quinn v. State of Texas, Institute attorneys argue that making lawful gun ownership and possession grounds for police to evade the protections afforded by the Fourth Amendment improperly penalizes and limits the Second Amendment right to bear arms.
Even if the Supremes honor the petition for certiorari, will we get a Constitutional ruling?  Or will the Supremes rule that mere possession of a firearm cancels the presumption of innocence that grounds our judicial system?

Apparently, in Connecticut, the mere possession of guns makes you a target of the state's ire, as the sheep are lining up to register their guns and magazines (!) as the new law goes into effect:
A long line of people stood outside of the Public Safety Building in Middletown all day Thursday to register firearms.
Specifically, anything the state considers an assault weapon or a high capacity magazine must be registered before Jan. 1, 2014.
“If they were trying to make them illegal, I’d have a real issue, but if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me,” said Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines.   ["Baaa.  Baaaa," said Mr. Gillette.  -B.E.]
“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” said Scott Boccio, who was registering guns.   [WTF, over.  -B.E.]
The controversial law was created last year after 20 children and six adults lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14.  [Done by a murderer who STOLE guns -- B.E.]
None of the people Eyewitness News spoke with thinks this is going to reduce gun violence. They believe it’s only hurting law abiding citizens.   [Of course!  -B.E.]
“If people are going to do things illegally, they’re not going to be here registering their gun,” said Jared Krajewski, who was registering guns.
“Unless you change everything, and make it England and take everything away, I don’t see how they’re going to stop it,” Boccio said.
Meanwhile, outside the Prison States, Ol' Backwoods and scores of millions of his compadres will NEVER NEVER NEVER register our guns or magazines, no matter what law they pass.

What will happen to that part of America that does not comply?

I'm tellin' y'all, there's gonna be a reckoning.

  1. Mkay, this is the third time I'm trying to share this link, and I get it...someone doesn't want me to here it is:

  2. The above link shares an insight as to WHY our country is losing its rights...I am not a conspiracy theorist, I am a new Christian, I read a lot of blogs etc but have only a few trusted sites...I hope you will take a look at this, Backwoods, and comment back, as I feel this is relevant to your blog...scary stuff..

  3. If Price is suggesting that Christians cannot be saved spiritually unless they leave America, I outright reject that premise; it is unbiblical. If he is saying that God's judgement is on America, I agree. However, the Lord has always taken care of a remnant whenever his judgement was on a land. See: Lot and his family, the 400 prophets that had not bowed the kneel to Ba'al, Rahab and more. God loves the individual and the nation, and also brings judgement on both. He always preserves those who follow His ways.

  4. there is a lively discussion over at on this subject. several folks have suggested not a 'physical' leaving, but more of a 'spiritual' leaving, becoming closer to God, and so on. Personally, I am only halfway through the book. I agree that America is facing His Judgement, and I feel Price's explanations make a lot of sense. I think more that we prepared Christians are being called to be here to help those who survive Judgement by sharing our faith and introducing them to the Lord.
